Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Syrax Academy (the "Service"), an online platform for learning C# and Unity development, operated by Five Attempt Studio ("Syrax Academy", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

1.1. You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use the Service. If you are a minor, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

1.2. Signing in is available only through Google Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure; everything done under your account is your responsibility.

1.3. One account is for one person. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account, or use another person's account.

2. The Service

2.1. Syrax Academy provides interactive programming lessons organized into blocks and parts, an in-browser code editor with practice exercises, a separate topic-based practice trainer ("Practicum"), personal learning-progress tracking, a personal notes feature, lesson reviews, in-app notifications, and an interface available in multiple languages.

2.2. Access is organized into three plans — Free, Plus, and Pro (the last also available as a one-time Pro Lifetime purchase). Free includes the first 10 lessons in full, together with their in-lesson practice and quizzes. Plus additionally unlocks the theory and quizzes of all remaining lessons. Pro adds all in-lesson practice exercises across the course, the Practicum trainer, and full use of the code editor. The exact scope of each plan is described in the Subscription Policy and shown on the pricing page, which govern in case of any difference.

2.3. We continuously develop the Service. Content, features, and their free/paid classification may be added, changed, or removed. Material changes affecting paid users are announced through the in-app notification system.

3. License to Course Content

3.1. All course materials — lesson texts, exercises, code samples, structure, graphics, and the Syrax Academy name and design — are owned by Five Attempt Studio or its licensors and are protected by copyright.

3.2. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the course content for your own learning while your account (and, for paid content, your paid access) is active.

3.3. You may freely use, modify, and publish your own code written while completing exercises. You may not copy, publish, resell, redistribute, or publicly share the lessons themselves or substantial parts of them.

4. Your Content

4.1. Notes remain your content and stay private to your account. You grant us only the technical right to store and display them back to you.

4.2. Reviews and feedback. By submitting a review or feedback message you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use it to operate and improve the Service, including publishing anonymous aggregated ratings. Reviews themselves are not published with your identity.

4.3. Your content must not be unlawful, abusive, or infringe anyone's rights. We may remove content that violates this rule.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

6. Purchases

Paid plans are sold by Paddle as Merchant of Record: Paddle is the seller of the transaction, handles payment, applicable taxes, invoicing, and refunds. By purchasing you also agree to Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms (https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms). Plan terms, renewal, and cancellation are described in the Subscription Policy; refunds are described in the Refund Policy. Both policies are part of these Terms.

7. The Code Editor

The in-browser editor executes the code you write. You are responsible for the code you run. The editor is provided for learning purposes; do not use it to attack, probe, or harm the Service or third parties.

8. Suspension and Termination

8.1. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the Account & Data Deletion Policy).

8.2. We may suspend or restrict an account (including write access to progress, reviews, notes, and feedback) or terminate it, with notice where practicable, if these Terms are materially violated — for example, paywall circumvention, content scraping, abuse of other systems, or payment fraud. If we terminate a paid account without such a violation, we will refund the unused portion of the current billing period.

8.3. Sections 3, 4.2, 9, 10, and 11 survive termination.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor that the course will lead to any particular learning outcome, qualification, or employment. Educational content is provided for general instruction and may contain simplifications.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Five Attempt Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data, profits, or opportunities, arising from use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim and (b) USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you reside. Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The effective date above will change, and material changes will be announced through the in-app notification system before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription.

13. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Subscription Policy, Refund Policy, Cookie & Local Storage Policy, and Account & Data Deletion Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
