Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Syrax Academy (the "Service"), an online platform with interactive programming courses — currently a C# for Unity course and a Python course — operated by Five Attempt Studio ("Syrax Academy", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Contact: fiveattemptstudio@gmail.com
1. Eligibility and Accounts
1.1. You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use the Service. If you are a minor, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
1.2. Signing in is available only through Google Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure; everything done under your account is your responsibility.
1.3. One account is for one person. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account, or use another person's account.
2. The Service
2.1. Syrax Academy provides interactive programming courses. Each course consists of lessons organized into blocks and parts, with an in-browser code editor and practice exercises checked directly in your browser. The C# course additionally includes the Practicum — a separate topic-based practice trainer; the Practicum is a feature of the C# course and is not part of the Python course. The Service also includes learning-progress tracking (kept separately per course), personal notes, lesson reviews, in-app notifications, and an interface and course content available in Russian and in English.
2.2. Access is organized into plans — Free, Plus, and Pro. A paid plan applies to your account as a whole and covers all courses on the platform, current and future, for as long as it is active. The exact scope of each plan is described in the Subscription Policy and on the pricing page, which govern in case of any difference.
2.3. We continuously develop the Service. Courses, lessons, features, and their free/paid classification may be added, changed, or removed. Material changes affecting paid users are announced through the in-app notification system.
3. License to Course Content
3.1. All course materials — lesson texts, exercises, reference solutions, code samples, course structure, graphics, and the Syrax Academy name and design — are owned by Five Attempt Studio or its licensors and are protected by copyright.
3.2. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the course content for your own learning while your account (and, for paid content, your paid access) is active.
3.3. You may freely use, modify, and publish the code you yourself write while solving exercises, including in commercial projects. What you may not do is republish the course materials themselves — lesson texts, exercise statements, or reference solutions — whether free or paid.
4. Your Content
4.1. Notes are private to you. Reviews may be displayed in the Service without your email or other contact data. Feedback may be used to improve the Service.
4.2. By submitting a review or feedback you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and quote it in connection with the Service. You can request deletion of your reviews at any time.
4.3. Your content must not be unlawful, offensive, or contain other people's personal data.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, mass-download, or republish course content, or share paid content with non-subscribers;
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent access restrictions of your plan;
- interfere with the operation of the Service, probe its infrastructure, or overload it;
- use the in-browser code editors to attack the Service or third parties (the editors execute code locally in your own browser and are intended for learning);
- use the Service to develop a directly competing course by reproducing its materials.
6. Purchases
Paid plans are sold as recurring subscriptions processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are described in the Subscription Policy and the Refund Policy, which are part of these Terms.
7. The Code Editors
7.1. Exercise checking happens in your browser: C# code runs in an in-browser interpreter shipped with the Service; Python code runs in the Pyodide runtime downloaded from a third-party CDN on first use. An internet connection is required for the first Python run.
7.2. The editors are learning tools, not a production environment. We do not guarantee that code accepted by the editors behaves identically in every external environment, though the runtimes used are real implementations of the languages.
7.3. Code you type in lesson practice editors is saved with your progress so it follows you across devices. Code in the free-experiment editor is not saved.
8. Suspension and Termination
8.1. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the Account & Data Deletion Policy).
8.2. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these Terms — including content scraping, payment fraud, or abuse of other users. Where reasonable, we warn first. Termination for violation does not by itself create a right to a refund.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor specific learning outcomes, employment, or certification. Parts of the Service depend on third-party providers (hosting, authentication, payments, CDN); their outages are outside our control.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Five Attempt Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or loss of data or profits, arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim (or, if you paid nothing, to 10 USD). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including mandatory consumer rights in your country.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of the operator's place of business, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. Disputes are first attempted to be resolved by negotiation via fiveattemptstudio@gmail.com.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. The effective date above reflects the latest revision; material changes are announced in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service.
